In Kyiv, NORD University jointly with IFSA held a seminar "Internal Control and COSO Standards. Application in the university sector"

From November 29 to December 1, a seminar "Internal Control and COSO Standards.


Application in the university sector “ organized by NORD University in cooperation with the IFSA took place. (COSO - The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission). The initiators and speakers were NORD University representatives, Professor Anatoli Bourmistrov, Associate Professor, University and Accounting Director at Widerøe Company Kirsti Meidelsen, curator of the “Ukraine-Norway” project from NORD University Torstein Vik Aarhus, postgraduate student at NORD University and "Ukraine-Norway" project assistant Veronika Vakulenko. The representatives of 13 Ukrainian universities-partners of the project “Ukraine-Norway", the NGO members involved in the project, IFSA and the representatives of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv attended it.
The daily work at the seminar consisted of a theoretical and practical part. After the theoretical lectures, the participants worked in small groups, discussed the material introduced and prepared reporting presentations from each group. Each presentation was advocated by the group before the lecturers and all the participants, and were followed by the active discussions. All the participants noted the high level of the organization of the event, the relevance and high quality of the presentation of the material and the work process. The knowledge and skills in the comprehensive control of work processes and projects at the university and in the company according to international standards is very relevant for Ukraine in the light of the chosen European vector of development. The partner universities of the “Ukraine-Norway” project will soon hold classes in their universities to share their experience with colleagues and begin the phased implementation of the COSO internal control system.
On the second day of the seminar, on November 30, the Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine, Ole Terje Horpestad, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Mr. Ambassador also signed the book “To Ukrainians about Norway”published by IFSA for the participants and partners of the project "Ukraine-Norway", which includes the preface written by Mr.Horpestad. On December 1, after the completion of the work, 31 participants of the seminar received international certificates confirming the passage of training.
