The course was conducted within the framework of the international project "Ukraine - Norway", aimed at professional retraining, social adaptation and assistance in the placement of dismissed servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies. The project is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented in partnership with the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, the University of Nord (Bodo, Norway), the International Foundation for Social Adaptation and the Charitable Fund “Heritage of Ukraine”. An important feature of the project is that members of the families of military personnel also participate in the project and receive professional knowledge on the course subjects.
The course of retraining in the specialty of "Energy Management" was developed taking into account the characteristics of the group and the practical experience of the participants. The course program consisted of theoretical and practical classes, aimed mainly at practical skills that allow graduates to conduct energy audits of various types of buildings and provide recommendations for improving their energy efficiency. Upon completion of the courses and examinations, the participants received four documents: a certificate of a state standard for professional retraining and a corresponding certificate from the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, a diploma from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine, and a joint certificate from Nord University and the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine. The received documents will allow them to find new and promising work in the field of energy audit and even start their own business.
In addition to professional retraining, the participants received psychological support for social adaptation and acquired practical skills in finding employment, namely: writing skills and communication skills during interviews with the potential employers. In addition, the participants received general information on a variety of job search methods and peculiarities of starting their own business.
The training lasted from September 14 to December 08, 2017 and had a total of 17 credits ECTS. After the graduation, the participants will not remain alone on their own - throughout the year, the “Heritage of Ukraine” Charitable Foundation will track the achievements of each of them and provide comprehensive support for job search and assistance in social adaptation after dismissal from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 39 project participants retrained at the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, including 31 ATO participants and 8 members of the military families. We sincerely wish all the graduates to find employment and apply all the gained knowledge and professional skills in energy audit!
