Visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Ukraine to Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovich
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Ukraine Ule Terje Horperstad, Rector of the University Stepan Melnychuk, co-founder of the Ukrainian-Scandinavian Center Anatoliy Kyrylyuk, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations Petro Fochuk, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Ruslan Biloskursky, Head of the Department International Economics Alexander Sayenko, Head of International Relations Sergey Lukanyuk, Deputy Head of International Relations Department Galina Navrotska.
During the meeting, the main directions and perspectives of cooperation between Yuri Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and Norwegian educational and scientific institutions were discussed.
In particular, the results and features of retraining and social adaptation of servicemen and their family members were discussed, which is conducted on the basis of the University of Economics' Faculty in the city of Chernivtsi, together with the International Fund for Social Adaptation and the Norwegian University of Nord. The University's participation in the Norwegian-Ukrainian project has given impetus to other areas of cooperation - the international academic mobility of students of the Faculty of Economics to the University of Nord for the Erasmus + program, the passing of weekly business practices in Budo, participation in joint scientific events and projects, the development of new ideas and future development. projects.
In addition, the meeting noted the fruitful cooperation with Dr. Jan-Urban Sandal, director of the private Norwegian Institute, who has been lecturing for social entrepreneurship and innovation management for university students for four years, and accepts students for short-term research internships in Oslo.
Norwegian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ule T. Horperstad also delivered a lecture to the students of the Second Summer School for Scandinavians and Ukrainians, organized jointly by the Ukrainian-Scandinavian Center and the Department of International Affairs of our University. Ukrainian and Norwegian students, including a representative of the Faculty of Economics, Tetyana Godovnets, asked Mr Ule T. Horperdad many questions about the current Ukrainian-Norwegian relations and the prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and Norway in various spheres of life. The ambassador's meeting with students ended with a discussion where each participant was able to express his views on contemporary Ukrainian-Norwegian relations.
