On December 22, it was held the online conference on the cooperation between the project “Norway-Ukraine” and the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine in the direction of professional retraining and social adaptation of the military officers, veterans and members of their families.

The event was attended by Vsevolod Steblyuk, General Manager of the Directorate for Rehabilitation, Medical Support and Social Rehabilitation of Veterans, and Serhiy Voychuk, Chief Specialist of the Expert Group on the educational programs, the professional adaptation and the employment promotion, also Volodymyr Rubtsov, the President of the IFSA, and Olga Filina, the coordinator of the project “Norway-Ukraine”. The rectors, teachers, project coordinators from almost two dozen universities in Ukraine and the delegates of partner NGOs, represented the partner network of the project “Norway-Ukraine”.  The regional representatives of the Ministry for Veterans also joined the conference.  The total number of the participants was 65 people.

The universities and the public organizations presented in detail the implementation model of the project "Norway-Ukraine.  Professional adaptation.  Integration into the State System” with the features and approaches that are being implemented in different regions of Ukraine, announced their proposals on the specific steps and areas of the cooperation with the Ministry.  Volodymyr Rubtsov outlined the general issues on the organization of comprehensive cooperation to better address the problem of social adaptation and the professional retraining of the military officers, veterans and members of their families; he also detailed the features of the project implementation in certain regions.

The representatives of the Ministry for Veterans noted the high professional level of the project performers in solving the problem, the powerful potential of the partner network and expressed the readiness to continue and strengthen the cooperation, to establish the system and the mechanism of interaction.

Currently, the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine has already signed 21 cooperation agreements with higher education institutions of Ukraine, 19 of which are with the partner universities of the project “Norway-Ukraine”.  The qualitative and proven experience of these universities in organizing the professional retraining for the military officers, veterans and members of their families, provides the Ministry with a powerful platform for the qualitative implementation of the state programs in this area.
