In the fall semester of 2019, the “Ukraine-Norway” project was implemented in 9 cities of Ukraine. The graduation events were held from December 12 to December 20, and 7 cities were visited by the representatives of Norway. All graduation ceremonies were traditionally performed with the singing of the national anthems of Ukraine and Norway, with the flags of both countries, and were united in a warm and friendly atmosphere from West to East and from North to South. On December 12 the opening cities Zaporizhia and Chernivtsi started the series of solemn issues.
Zaporizhia, December 12.
The official ceremony was attended by the President of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation Volodymyr Rubtsov, Deputy Regional Military Commissioner in Zaporizhia Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Rogovy, Chairman of the public organization "Union of Military Officers "Leader" Gennady Konovalenko and his Deputy Anastasia Konovalenko, ZNU Vice-rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Technical Education Victor Banakh, also Ivan Karika, Head of the Center for Postgraduate Education.
This time not only military officers and members of their families, but also 14 members (out of 34 students) of the public organization “Vilnius Union of Military Officers of ATO (OOS)” became students of the courses in Zaporizhia.
Chernivtsi, December 12.
On the Norwegian side the graduation event in Chernivtsi was attended by the Co-operation and Development Counsellor at the Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine Petter Bauck and the professor of NORD University, the responsible officer of the “Ukraine – Norway” project from the Norwegian side Anatoly Burmistrov. From the IFSA side the project coordinator Olga Filina participated in the event. The meeting was held with the administration of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University with the participation of Rector Roman Petryshyn, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Ruslan Beloskursky, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics Roman Greshko, Head of the Department of International Economics Olexandr Saienko. Oleh Sharov, General Manager of the Higher and Adult Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine joined the meeting and also emphasized the importance of the “Ukraine-Norway” project for Ukraine and the effectiveness of its implementation model, in particular by involving the universities in the process of the participants professional retraining. During the graduation ceremony, diplomas and certificates were presented to the graduates by the representatives of Norway and the university administration. The official part of the issue ended with warm thanks from the graduates and the event went on to the informal part - the buffet table.
Uzhgorod, December 13.

The graduation event was held in the warm and friendly atmosphere. After the official part was completed, the head and active participants of the group organized Christmas tastings, fun puzzles about each member of the group with video responses.
Chernihiv, December 17.
Guest from the Kingdom of Norway - Lieutenant Colonel, Norwegian Attaché for Ukraine Boye Garder Lillerud, from IFSA - Volodymyr Rubtsov, President of the Foundation. During the visit, the guests had the opportunity to visit the exhibition of scientific and technical achievements of the University and to present the graduation documents to the students of professional retraining and social adaptation courses within the framework of the “Ukraine-Norway” project. At the graduating ceremony Serhiy Shkarlet, the Rector of Chernihiv National Technological University, project coordinator from Chernihiv National University and partner public organization “Chernihiv European” welcomed the graduates with the guests.
Lviv, December 17.
In Lviv the graduates were welcomed and handed over with their graduation documents by Tetiana Shapovalova, “Ukraine-Norway” project curator from the National University of Lviv Polytechnic and Kostiantyn Levchenko, the head of the project's partner public organization in the region. The event was attended by Volodymyr Shamray, head of the Lviv Territorial Authority of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine.
It is important to note that one of the teachers of the fall semester 2019 in this group was the former graduate of the project Bohdan Rayko, who is now successfully working on a new specialty in the IT Company SoftServe and helps the next participants to master more practically and effectively the specialty "Software Quality Control".
Ternopil, December 18.
On the occasion of the graduation ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel, Norwegian Attaché for Ukraine Boye Garder Lillerud, and IFSA President Volodymyr Rubtsov visited Ternopil. The first TNEU Vice-Rector Mykola Shynkaryk, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work (International Cooperation and Innovative Development) Oksana Desyatnyuk welcomed the guests together with the project participants.
Also the following people were presented at the event: Chief of Ternopil Zonal Department of Military Law Enforcement, Colonel Ivan Bugai, Commander of the 44th Detached Artillery Brigade, Colonel Serhiy Baranov, Commander of the 2nd Rifle Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro Gurtovsky.
The students of the TNEU Reserve Officers Training Center have been awarded with the honor to carry the national flags of the Kingdom of Norway and Ukraine. After the official part of the event, the celebration continued at the TNEU Exhibition Hall where creative youth prepared the artistic greetings for the guests.
Bilyaivka city, Odesa region, December 18.
In the autumn semester of 2019, the work was organized not in the regional center, but in the district center - the city of Bilyaivka in Odesa region by the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after KD Ushinsky and the public organization "Odesa Black Sea Center for the Conversion of Military Personnel". This is not the first experience of the field work of “Ukraine-Norway” project partners in Odesa region. This practice has confirmed the positive results for several semesters. The city of project implementation for each semester is selected based on the demand for participation in it and after the discussions with the regional representatives of military units, line ministries, city administrations.

The representatives of the city and district administrations expressed their intention to lobby for the funds allocation from local budgets to finance the best business projects of the graduates.
Ivano-Frankivsk, December 19.
At the graduation event the Kingdom of Norway was represented by the Lieutenant Colonel, Norwegian Attaché for Ukraine Boye Garder Lillerud, and the President of IFSA - Volodymyr Rubtsov. Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkov joined the solemn event and handed over the graduating documents to the participants. The graduates also received congratulations form Eustakhiy Kryzhanivskyi, Rector of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Maksym Karpash, Vice-Rector, lecturers, and Olga Popovych from the partner public organization “Bureau of Development, Innovation and Technology”. The graduates thanked the organizers, noted the useful program of study, practical orientation of the course, the opportunity to realize the acquired knowledge and skills in further self-realization in civilian life.
Mykolaiv, December 19.
The solemn events in Mykolaiv were visited by Deputy Assistant of Norway mission in Ukraine Frederick Arthur together with the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Oleg Fomychov. From IFSA, “Ukraine-Norway” Project Coordinator Olga Filina joined the delegation. Prior to the commencement of the festivities, the meeting was attended by Leonid Klimenko, the Rector of the Black Sea National University named after Petro Mohyla, Volodymyr Beglytsia, the Vice-rector for scientific work of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Anna Nord, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Postgraduate Education and Olena Berezovska, Acting Head of International Relations Department.
The graduation ceremony was joined by the university professors and the Head of project partner public organization "Conversion of military officers". After the official part of the ceremony, all guests were invited to the festive reception to continue their communication in the informal atmosphere.
The fall semester of 2019 has been finalized according to the five-year agreement of “Ukraine-Norway” project implementation between the NORD University and IFSA. In early January, it was submitted an application for a new three-year project phase for the period 2020-2022 to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are waiting for the decision of the Norwegian side and we wish all the project graduates the success in self-realization!
